My new WordPress plugin – Disable XML-RPC

My first plugin – Disable XML-RPC – has been published on the WordPress.org Plugin Directory. I created this plugin to give WordPress site administrators an easy way to disable the XML-RPC protocol in WordPress 3.5.

XML-RPC is primarily used in WordPress to allow mobile and third-party applications to interact with WordPress. For instance, the official WordPress mobile apps use XML-RPC to get data from your WordPress site.

Beginning in 3.5, XML-RPC is enabled by default. Additionally, the option to disable/enable XML-RPC was removed. For various reasons, site owners may wish to disable this functionality. This plugin provides an easy way to do so.
